Getting Hit On The Head By The Universe
Have you ever had the universe kick you in the head? Well the funny thing is that I think that just happened to me. It was October 1st, my birth month, at 12:30 AM when I decided to take a sleep walking tour of my house. I think I kind of missed 5 or 6 stairs on the way to the floor. The crash woke my husband and he found me laying in a fetal position on the first landing of our stairs. He got me up and I had some nonsensical conversation with him. He figured I was still asleep, but during this conversation I told him I was fine, to get me some ice and to put me back to bed. I woke up an hour later wondering why my face hurt. He told me and I thought yes, my face is very swollen, it hurts a bit; I asked for new ice and I went back to sleep.
When I looked into the mirror the next morning this is what I saw.
My thoughts were, “Boy, I look really bad, I don’t think I broke anything, I’m pretty happy because there is very little pain (which I read as a good sign because I do know what excruciating pain is like) and I’m really happy because it could have been a lot worse.”
On a physical level, other than the swollen face, a lot of black and blue marks, and some tenderness in areas, I felt pretty good. On a mental level, I had better clarity and focus for my work. In fact, I spent the week making a number of new designs, posting them on my Facebook page, writing a new blog post, finishing my website, handling all the other duties of life, and, yes, seeing a doctor. On an emotional level, I found out what it was like to want to hide your face, and that experience does make you think about the meaning and power of beauty.
Now you are probably wondering why I am blogging about the fall; I’m not exactly sure either. But I often wonder why things happen and I always ask the question “What is the universe telling me?” I figured if I fell on my face the way I did, it was probably telling me to “Wake up and smell the coffee!”
As a result, I woke up and worked on my new Black and White clothing line, a combination of Francesca oh! “Upcycled” and “Classics” and I figured I better get them to market. ..
So with that as the introduction, I’ll be reentering the retail fashion world on Sunday, October 28th at Skin Prophecy Boutique at 14531 Big Basin Way (on the corner of 4thstreet) in Saratoga, CA . I’ll be at the store from 12:00 to 3:00 showing my Upcycled Jazzed Blues line, my Black and White Upcycled and Classic line and encouraging everyone to upcycle and experience the power of beauty! If you are so inclined, and are interested in upcycling your own clothing, I invite you bring your own wannabe upcycle men’s shirts.
In any case, I hope you will stop by. We’ll be playing dress up and it should be a lot of fun!
Postscript: Well time has passed, now I understand more about the WHAT and the WHY I needed the experience of “Getting Hit On The Head By The Universe!” If you’d like to know more about the WHAT and the WHY, jump on over to my other website Inner Beauty Healing where you’ll see the results. 😀
